What is CreateMagazines?

Answer: It is a web application which converts your print ready documents or images into digital documents. Digital document refers to browser based user interface displaying any document in the form of a real book with flipping pages, contents index, zoom in, zoom out etc. CreateMagazines output leaves practically no difference between a real book and the online one except there tangibility.

Basically, CreateMagazines does the job of a processor that converts a print ready document into the get up of a book so that it is easy to read and interesting as well. CreateMagazines, the electronic publishing solution that takes any print-ready (PDF or image format) document and converts it into an electronic “chapter book.” Your reader sees a familiar page layout that they already understand. They can electronically flip through each page, back and forth, just as if they were reading a printed book or magazine.

Now you can present your electronic content in the way that the eye and brain find most pleasing. You can present your content just like it would appear in a printed book or magazine — complete with electronic “page turning”.

What file formats can be used in CreateMagazines?

Answer: CreateMagazines is a web application that supports a variety of file formats. Basically , our automated web interface accepts the following file formats- PDF, SWF, JPG, GIF, PNG but if you have any other file formats to be made into a magazine get in touch with us using our Contact Us page.

How do I get started?

Answer:To get started you first need to signup for an account on CreateMagazines and then upload a file in order to publish your publication using our system. Once published you can embed a small block of HTML code into your website pages to display your publication from your website.

What are the differences between free and pro accounts?

Answer: Both Free as well as Pro accounts allow you to publish a publication. However, there are some other limitations with the Free account. With a Free account you can only publish 1 publication with a total disk-space limited to 25MB per account. Also, Free account users cannot use some of the advanced features such as audio, video embedding in publications.

With a Pro account you can publish unlimited number of publications with a total disk-space limited to 1GB per account. All features are accessible to Pro account users.

Which file formats are supported for publishing?

Answer: All the popular file formats like PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ODT, RTF, TXT, HTML are supported for publishing through our automated system. We are however willing to help interested publishers publish other file formats manually for them. In order to request a custom manual conversion kindly get in touch with us using the Contact Us page.

Are their any limitations related to file size?

Answer: Yes, Pro account holders can upload a file upto 100MB where as Free account holders can upload a maximum 25MB file.

How do I embedd my publications in my website?
Can I host my publications on my web server?

Answer: You can embedd a small block of html code into your websites’ page to display your publication from your website but cannot host your publication on your web server. We host all the publications on our secured and reliable servers.

Which membership plans are available at CreateMagazines?

Answer: Currently we offer only two types of membership, Free and Pro. With a free account you can only publish 1 magazine and you get 25MB of webspace. Free account is useful for personal use when you only intend to publish 1 document.

Pro account is suitable for small to large businesses alike who need to publish several documents online. Subscription charges for “Pro” account are $15/Month. There is no limit to the number of documents you can publish with a Pro account and you get 1GB of storage space with option to buy additional diskspace if needed. Please visit our Pricing section for more details.

Can I buy additional diskspace?

Answer: Yes, you can buy additional disk space if needed. To check with the charges please visit our pricing section.

Can I publish additional magazines?

Answer: Yes, you can publish additional magazines. There are no limitations on the number of magazines that you can publish with a CreateMagazines pro account subscription. You do however have a limited storage of 1GB which ofcourse can be increased further if required. To check with the charges for additional storage and subscription please visit our pricing section.

How do I deposit funds in my account?
What happens when I do not have enough balance in my account?
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Answer: You can deposit funds through your paypal account. In order to keep viewing your publications please maintain sufficient balance in your Pro account. Otherwise your publications will be blocked and account status changed from PRo to Free user account.
Yes, you can cancel a subscription at any time you like. Please note here that if you cancel between a month you still have to pay for the whole month even if there are days remaining in that month.

Feature related :

Can I add videos to my publications?

Answer: Yes, you can add videos to any section of your publications. Our poweful control panel allows you to not only upload video files but it also converts and optimizes them for you to use in your publications. Using our control panel you can add, position, resize and save a video inside your publication pages. You can also add multiple videos per publication or per publication page.

Can I add audio files to my publications?

Answer: Yes, just like videos you can also add audio files to your pages.

Which audio and video file formats are supported?

Answer: Currently we only support mp3 audio format but all popular video file formats are supported including, but not limited to avi, mpg, mpeg, mov, wmv, flv etc.

Is there any limit to the file size that i can upload?

Answer: Yes, free account holders maximum upload limit is 25 MB where as Pro account holders maximum file upload limit is 100mb. For larger files please contact our support team by filling contact form in the contact us page.

Can I view statistics related to my publications?

Answer: Yes, after you login to your control panel you can view a variety of user statistics.

Can I categorize my publications?

Answer: Yes, you can categorize your publications according to your needs.

can I add custom background to my publications?

Answer: Yes, you can upload images to be used as a custom background to your publications. This helps in making publications look more customized to your existing websites or brand.

Can I use my company logo in my publications?

Answer: Yes, you can upload and use your own logo files in your publications. You can also set your company logo as a custom background to your publications.

Can I embedd my publications in my website pages?

Answer: Yes, you can generate an embedd code for any of your publication which can easily be embedded in your existing websites’ pages.

Is it possible to link to a page inside my publication?

Answer:Yes, you can directly link to any page inside your publication. You can use this deep linking feature to send direct links to different users so that they do not have to flip all across to get to a specific page.

How can I get a custom theme branded with my Company logo and colors?

Answer: We handle all such customizations for our users. To order a custom theme

Can I disable some features in the viewer?

Answer: Yes, you can enable/ disable any of the following features in the viewer :

Are theme properties configurable?

Answer: Yes, theme properties are configurable via control panel after any user (Free or Pro) logs in.

Can I restore default theme settings?

Answer:Yes, you can restore default settings from your control panel at any time.

What is a hotspot?

Answer:Hotspot is a clickable area inside your publication which can be linked to other pages inside your publication or otherwise linked to external url’s.

Is it possible to delete pages from a publication?

Answer:Yes, you can delete individual pages from an existing publication.

Can I delete an existing publication?

Answer:Yes, You can delete any of your existing publications at any time.

Can I sell my publications / subscriptions through CreateMagazines?

Answer:Yes, you can sell your publications / subscription through CreateMagazines with the help of your Paypal account. You can set the price of each subscription with minimum price being $2. We are charging 7% of the set price of each publication / subscription sold to cover up the service charges for payment gateway (paypal and credit card ) services. You can withdraw all funds earned through your subscriptions by setting up a withdrawal request. Withdrawal request can only be made if account balance from subscriptions is over $50 at that point of time. All payouts would be made on the 15th of every month if a withdrawal request was set prior to 15th of that month otherwise payout would be made in the next month on 15th. Kindly allow 2-7 days for payouts to be made to your respective accounts. Withdrawals currently can be made through Paypal without any fees from our side. Additionally payouts can be made via Bank wire transfer as well which would cost an additional $25 fee to cover for the transfer charges.

In this control panel the first menu item at the top is for publications.
- Click Publication.

On the following My Publications page,
- Click Create Publication button.

Following page is for publication Upload Wizard. Alternatively, you can also reach this Upload Wizard page by clicking the Quick links > Publish your publication
Click Publish your Publications
link that you see immediatly after you log into your publisher’s control panel. Under the upload wizard you will see two fields: – Publication title & Select File.
Provide a title to your publication and select your publication document by Clicking Browse button and selecting the file from your local computer.
Click Upload button next to start uploading your publication document. Once document is uploaded it is automatically transformed into your own digital publication and you are redirected to the My Publications page which has a list of all your existing as well as newly published publication sorted date wise.

How can I disable various options available in the frontend viewer? / I do not wish to give access to the downloadable pdf version of my publication, what should I do?

- Click Publication to go to My Publications page with your publications list. In-front of each publication you will see various links, i.e. edit, status, properties, view delete etc.
- Click Properties button next to your chosen publication.
It will take you to Edit Scheme page. Under Edit Scheme you will see the panel section features like listed below :

- Thumbnail

- Table of contents

- Bookmark

- Print

- Download Pdf

- Share

And in-front of each feature there is an option to enable or disable that feature. To disable a feature
- Click disable option in panel section and
- Click next It will open the branding section. In the bottom of the branding section you will see the two buttons Back & Next adjacent to each other.
- Click Next.
It will open the Publication Properties page. In the bottom of the Publication Properties you will see the two buttons Back & Update adjacent to each other. – Click Update to save the change that you have just made.
It will enable or disable the option(s) as per what you chose in the publication viewer.

How can I add videos to my publication pages?

Click Videos button from the top menu to open Videos page which lists all your uploaded videos. Click Upload Video button on this page to open videos upload page.
On this page provide a Title for the Video you want to upload and then select the video file you want to upload.
To select a video file for uploading Click Browse button and browse to Select the video file from your local computer. Click Upload button next to upload this video file which would start file upload and once finished would automatically convert and optimize your uploaded video file to be used in your publications. Some of the common video file formats that you can upload are listed as follow:

- MPEG

- AVI

- MOV

- FLV

- VOB

- MPG

- WMV etc….

To add any of your uploaded videos to your publications Click Publications button from the top menu to open My Publications page. Click edit button next to the publication to which you want to add a video from the list of publications. This would open Edit Publication page which would have a full listed view of this publications pages with options to edit that page, delete that page, add a Hotspot to that page or add a Video to that page.

To add a video click Video button next to the page you want to add the video to.
This would open selected page in a separate window. On the upper control bar of the window you will see a drop-down containing all the videos you have successfully uploaded to your account. Select video by clicking on the Drop-down and selecting the video title you want to add. Click on the Add Video (besides the Drop-down for selecting video).
It will place a small video player which you can drag and position on the publication page where you want it to be. Additionally you can also resize the video here according to your choice by using the resize handlers on this player. Once you have finished adjusting video player as per your preference, click on the checkbox for Autoplay on the Upper control bar of the window to have autoplay turned on or off when your readers are viewing this publication page.
- Choose true to turn on auto play or false if you don’t want to turn on autoplay and would only like the video to be played if your readers click the play button on the video player. Click save on the top menu to save changes you have made to your publication. You can add as many number of videos you like to your publications and there are no limitations.

How do I brand CreateMagazines viewer with our company logo? How can I add my companies logo to our publications?

Click Logos button from the top menu to open Logo page. To upload your Logo Click Upload button to open logo upload page.
On this page provide a Title for the Logo you want to upload and select the Logo file by clicking Browse. Select your Logo file you want to upload from your local computer. After selecting Click Open and then Click Upload button next to browse to upload this Logo image.
Please note your Logo file needs to be one of the these three file types: jpeg, gif and png.

Now click Publications from the top menu to go back to the My Publications page where all your publications will be listed. Click on the Properties button next to the publication you want to apply this Logo to. It will Open the Edit Scheme Window. Under the Edit Scheme window you will see Panel Section, Branding Section and Publication Properties,
- Click Branding Section.
It will open the Branding Section. In this section you will see Logo as the Second option in the list.
Click on the Select button next to the Logo you want to apply.
It will provide you with the list of Logo’s you have uploaded. Select the logo and Click Next (on the Bottom of the list )
It will take you to the Publication Properties.
Click Update ( at the bottom of the list)
It will complete the Process and will place your Companies Logo in your publications. Please note you can create multiple schemes to use different branding for different publication of yours.

How can I embed my publication on my Websites page? / How can I show my publications on my website?

Answer: Log into your Publisher account by visiting the login page at:

Now click Publications from the top menu to go back to the My Publications page where all your publications will be listed. Click on the Link button next to the publication you want to embed or find links to. It will open the Publications URL page. Now Scroll to the bottom of the page. You will find an embed code. Copy the html Code in the textfield under the Embed code.
Paste this Code into the HTML code of your website’s page where you want to view your publication in your Website.

Some other linking options that you get on this page are listed below :

- Link to your Sales page which can be used to showcase all of your publications from a single page.

- Direct link / url of your publication.

- Deeplink URL which you can use to directly link to a specific page of your publication.
- Direct link to the downloadable PDF version of your publication.

How can I earn from my publications? / How can I Monetize from my print publications?

Answer: CreateMagazines provides all the tools that you need to not only get your own digital publication but also helps you earn from your publications by allowing you to sell your subscriptions to your publications. This way readers / viewers have to buy a subscription to your publication before they can actually view it. You can sell your publications / subscription through CreateMagazines with the help of your Paypal account.You can set the price of each subscription (with minimum price being $2). We are charging 7% on the set price of each publication / subscription sold to cover up the service charges for payment gateway (paypal and credit card ) services.
All sales are directly credited to your account and you can request for fund withdrawal from your CreateMagazine accounts balance to your own paypal account if you have a balance in excess of USD50.

How can I change the background Image of my publication?

Please note your Image file needs to be one of the these three file types: jpeg, gif and png.

Now click Publications from the top menu to go back to the My Publications page where all your publications will be listed. Click on the Properties button next to the publication you want to apply this image to. It will Open the Edit Scheme page. In this section you will see background Image as the last option in the list.

How can I change the color of the background of my publication?

Click on the Choose option.
It will provide you with table of various colors for the background you can choose from. Select the color of your choice and
- Click Next (on the Bottom of the list )
It will take you to the Publication Properties page.

Click Update ( at the bottom of the list)
It will complete the process and will change the background color of your publication.

How can I add external or internal links or url to my publication pages? what are hotspots and how can I use them?

Once you Log into your publisher account, you will see CreateMagazine’s publisher control panel.

Now click Publications from the top menu to go back to the My Publications page where all your publications will be listed. Click on the Edit button next to the publication you want to add a external or internal link to. In this window your chosen publication will be listed page wise with various options like edit, delete, Hotspots, Video.
Click Hotspot link next to the selected page.
It will open that publication page in a separate window with the hotspot editor. To add a external link click Add External Link on the top menu.
It will create a small square hotspot area on the publication page which can be dragged and resized to the desired size. Enter the external URL in the Link textfield in the top bar.
Below the link Url enter the tooltip you want to show for this external link.

Click Save ( Top right corner button).
It will save the publication with the external link.

To add a internal link click Add Internal Link on the top menu. It will create a small square hotspot area on the publication page which can be dragged and resized to the desired size. Enter the internal page number in the Page number textfield in the top bar. Below the page number enter the tooltip you want to show for this internal link. Click Save ( Top right corner button). It will save the publication with the internal link.

You can add as many external or internal hotspots as you like to your publications in this manner. These hotspots can be used to add links to your advertisers, your product sales pages, external media etc… thereby adding value.

How can I manage multiple issues of one publication?

Answer: Log into your Publisher account by visiting the login page at:

Enter your user name and password in the text field provided and Click Login.
Once you Log into your publisher account, you will see CreateMagazine’s publisher control panel.

Now click Groups button from the top menu to open the publication Groups page. Click Create Group button on this page to create a new group.
Under this page you will see two options to give a group name and setting price for all publications added to that group.
Provide a name to your Group under which you want to group your issues in the text field provided adjacent to Create new.
Then specify a price for the groups issues under the Price heading. The default value is $1, you can change this according to your wish.
Click Create next( at the bottom of the listing) to create this new group.
It will create your new group and will take you to the Publication Groups Page.
Here you will have a default group called Free_Magazine alongside other gorups created. Click on the Edit button next to the group you want to add issues to.
It will take you to the select group page. Under this heading you will have two Columns called Group Issues and Available Publications. All your publications will be listed under the group Issues columns. Please note that by default all publications are added to the Free_Magazine group. So select Free_Magazine group from the drop down to display all assigned issues. Then select all the issues you want to add to your new group one at a time and click on the ‘ > ‘ button in between both the columns to move the issues from Group issues to the Available Publications column.
Once all your selected issues are moved into the available publications columns then
- Click Save ( At the bottom of the page)
to save the changes made in the groups. Now above the group issues columns there is a Group option from where you can see all the group names. Select the Group you want to move the issues into.
It will open the Group issues column of that group. Now from the available Publications column select the order of the issues one at a time and
- Click ‘ < ‘ button ( In between the Group Issues and available Publications columns)
This will move all the issues into the desired Group. Once all the issues are moved into the Group issues column from available Publications columns, click Save (At the bottom of the page)
to save the issues in the desired Group.

How can I change the existing theme of my publication?

Answer: Log into your Publisher account by visiting the login page at:

Now click Themes from the top menu which will take you to the themes page. Click Apply button next to the scheme you wish to apply to one of your publications to open the Apply Scheme page. This page would have all your current publications listed, select the publication you want to apply the theme and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Apply.
It will apply the selected theme to your publication.

How can I create a custom theme or edit an existing theme for my publication?

Answer: Log into your Publisher account by visiting the login page at:

Once you Log into your publisher account, you will see CreateMagazine’s publisher control panel.

Now click Themes button from the top menu which will take you to the themes page. Click Create Themes button next to open the Create Themes page. On this page you will see Panel Section and Branding Section .
Panel Section is for the Type of options you want to enable / disable in the viewer.
You can Enable or Disable any of the options like thumbnail, Content (table of content), Download Pdf, Send, Print and Bookmark by selecting enable or disable from the drop down in the panel section options.
After customizing the Panel Section,
click Next ( at the bottom of the list)
It will take you to the Branding Section. Here you will have to provide a name to the theme you want to create in the Text field next to Name of Scheme. You can select Logo, Flip sound, Zooming Level, Background Color or Background Image by
using the drop down next to these options.
After selecting these options,
click Create ( At the bottom of the list)
to create a new theme which you can apply to any of your publications.

To edit an existing scheme simply click Themes button from the top menu which will take you to the themes page. Click on the edit button next to the theme you wish to edit and modify properties as explained above for creating a new scheme.

How can I remove the “powered by CreateMagazines” from my viewer?

If you would like to receive advanced stats though we suggest you to use the Google Analytics option instead. In place of re-inventing the wheel, we are now providing an option to our publishers to use Google Analytics to track your publications and get detailed visitor reports right inside your own Google Analytics account. Since majority of our publishers already are using Google Analytics for their websites this option helps everyone track both the website as well as publications from the same central location.

To use this feature all you have to do is add your website Profile id from your Google Analytics account in the input field below and that is it. Your publications would start getting tracked through your Google Analytics account immediately. To check reports simply log into your google analytics account.

Now Click Gallery button from the top menu to open the Publication Gallery Page.

Click Create Gallery button on this page to create a new gallery
Under this page you will see three options to give a Gallery Name, Gallery Height and Gallery Width for all images added to that gallery.

Provide a Name to your gallery under which you want to view your images in the text field provided adjacent to Gallery Name.

Then specify the Height for the images shown in the gallery in the text field provided adjacent to Gallery Height.

Now provide the Width for the image shown in gallery in the text field provided adjacent to Gallery Width.

Click Create button provided under the three fields to create your gallery.

It will take you to the Publication Galleries Page.

Now Click Edit Gallery next to the Gallery you have just created. It will take you to the select gallery page. Under this heading you will have two columns called Gallery Images and Available Images. All your images will be listed under the available images column.

Now from the available images column select the the images one at a time and Click ‘ < ‘ button ( In between the Group Issues and available Publications columns)

This will move all the images into the desired Gallery.
Once all the images are moved into the Gallery Images column from available images column,

click Save (At the bottom of the page) to save the issues in the desired Gallery.

How can I create table of contents for my publications?

It will take you to the Table of Content Page.
Here all the pages of your publication will be displayed one below the other. Adjacent to each page you will find a Text Field to provide a Title to each page for the table of content.

Provide a Title to each page you want to include in table of contents in the text field.

Click on the Check Box for the pages you want to include in the table of content (provided adjacent to each page display).

Once you have provided titles for the pages you want to include in the table of contents,
Click Save button at the bottom of the page.

It will take you back to My Publications Page where all your publications will be listed.

Click on the Properties button next to the publication you want to apply the table of content you have just created.

It will open the Edit Scheme Page.
Under the Edit Scheme page you will see Panel Section.

Under the Panel Section you will see a list of all the viewer options. In this list you will see Table of Content at the third position. Adjacent to table of content you will see a drop down menu.

Click on the drop down menu and select Enable.
It will enable the Table of Content option in the viewer.

Now Click Update button at the bottom of the list.

It will apply the Table of Content Button in the publication Viewer.

How can I add more web space to my pro account?

Once confirmed additional storage space will get added to your account and you can see this update when you log in next to your account.

How can I share all my publication on the various social networking websites?

It will open the Bookmark or Share Publication page in a separate window. From the list of all the Social Networking Websites, choose and click the website through which you want to share your publication.

It will automatically open the login Page of the requested website. Login with the Username and Password for the website. It will show the link of your shared publication with a text field to add a personal note with your publication.

Add your personalized note and Click Publish/ Share to share your publication on your desired social networking website.

Follow the same procedure to share any other publication on the social networking websites.

How can I change the viewer type from default to an advanced viewer?

Click on the Properties button next to the publication you want to apply the Advanced Viewer Type. It will Open the Edit Scheme page. Under the Edit Scheme page you will see Panel Section, Branding Section, Publication Properties and Publication SEO.

Under the Panel Section you will see Viewer Type as the first option. In front of viewer type you will see a drop-down menu.

Click on th drop down menu. You will see two options:
Default and Advanced Viewer Beta.

Select Advanced Viewer Beta to change the viewer type form Default Viewer.

After selecting the viewer typer Click Update button at the bottom of the list.

It will change the default viewer to the advanced viewer beta.
